Our research shows there is an unmet need in Sydney for a regular, relaxed marketplace for artists and designers who do not have gallery representation to exhibit, sell and accept commissions.
It is expected that the undercover ‘rain, hail or shine’ market will be strongly supported by residents of Sydney’s inner-west encompassing Chippendale, Newtown, Leichhardt, Stanmore, Camperdown, Surry Hills, Alexandria, Redfern and Waterloo, as well as by interstate and international visitors.
From the outset market organisers have focused on the requirements of the creative community to ensure that the market is both financially and environmentally sustainable. This commitment even encompasses the collection of rainwater for onsite use and the recycling of all packaging waste.
As the Market expands, it is intended to embrace and develop alliances with other arts and crafts networks and organisations to offer complementary art education, and allied arts events at the historic railyard site.
To make selling at Eveleigh Artisans' Market a great experience we have refurbished a heritage building specifically for markets. It is undercover, and the stalls have power and water. You can park on site adjacent to the market building after unloading your work at your stall. There are toilet facilities within the market building.
The committee will only assess applications from original artists, independent crafters and designers, please read our charter to ensure that you comply with our guidelines as a stallholder. The Eveleigh Artisans' Market is nearly running at capacity, so stallholder places are very limited.
