MISSION
To provide the people of Sydney with a regular undercover venue to purchase high quality, authentic Australian arts and crafts directly from the artists and crafts people who design, create and make authentic original work. These creative vendors will be supported by coffee brewers, food stalls, flowers vendors to create a Sunday at Eveleigh Market experience.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
To provide a unique forum and venue for creative artisans to showcase and offer for direct sale original contemporary visual art, design and craft.
To develop Eveleigh Artisans’ Market into Sydney’s pre-eminent authentic Artisans’ Market providing Sydney residents and visitors with the opportunity to purchase unique Australian, handcrafted paintings, photographs, fashion, furniture, ceramics, stationery, graphics, sculpture, home wares, woodwork, jewellery and allied creative objects.
To position Eveleigh Artisans’ Market as one of Sydney’s premier innovative arts community initiatives.
To nurture strong community ties through partnerships with existing arts and crafts organizations.

OBJECTIVES
Authenticity
The key to an authentic Artisans’ Market is the principle that artists and crafts people sell works they have made and designed themselves directly to market shoppers.
To achieve this objective, produce from agents, wholesalers and resellers will not be accepted.
Education
Eveleigh Artisans’ Market will work with local schools and universities to promote artistic development and provide an opportunity for young and emerging artists to sell their works at the market.
In addition, guest artists will be offered the opportunity to work ‘live’ at the markets, showcasing and demonstrating their artistic skills, techniques and process.
Cultural Precinct
Eveleigh Artisans’ Market is at the heart of Sydney’s newest cultural precinct including the Carriageworks Contemporary Performing Arts Centre, art galleries, Indigenous café, and Farmers’ Market.
This precinct already attracts the people of Sydney to many performances and festivals. It is intended that the Eveleigh Artisans’ Markets will complement and consolidate the varied cultural experiences on offer.
Celebration of Creativity
The Eveleigh Artisans’ Market provides the opportunity for Sydney to have a venue where arts related experiences can find tangible expression. A program of special events will be rolled out throughout 2009.
Sustainability
Eveleigh Artisans’ Market is committed to recycling 100% of market waste products through recycling initiatives. Rainwater is collected for use at the market. Recycled bags, cups and plates are to be used where required.
